Dr. James Saunders is a Royal College-certified Plastic Surgeon and the Head of Surgery at Lions Gate Hospital. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, he completed a specialized fellowship in Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.

Alongside serving as a Clinical Instructor at UBC and co-founder of North Shore Plastic Surgery, Dr. Saunders specializes in complex hand, upper extremity, and nerve reconstruction, alongside advanced aesthetic surgery. His practice seamlessly pairs premier clinical leadership with cutting-edge anatomical expertise to deliver natural, restorative patient outcomes.

Dr. Zach Zhang

Dr. Zach Zhang is a Royal College-certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon sub-specializing in hand and wrist surgery. He is a Consultant Surgeon at Lions Gate Hospital and a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia. Following his plastic surgery residency at UBC, Dr. Zhang completed an advanced Orthopedic Hand and Wrist fellowship in Melbourne, Australia. Combining clinical rigor with an MBA, he leads North Shore Plastic Surgery in North Vancouver, providing comprehensive reconstructive care alongside refined aesthetic procedures focused on natural, balanced outcomes.

Dr. Willem Gouws

Dr. Gouws is a highly skilled specialist family physician with over 14 years of extensive experience in emergency care and advanced anesthesia. A graduate of the University of Pretoria in South Africa, he completed his postgraduate anesthesia training at the University of Alberta, developing an acute clinical precision in high-stakes medical environments. He is fully registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and the Canadian College of Family Physicians.

Driven by a passion for continuous learning and patient-focused care, Dr. Gouws completed his certification with the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine. His background in emergency medicine and anesthesia provides him with a profound, exact understanding of facial anatomy and patient safety. Approaching non-surgical aesthetics with a deep respect for artistry, Dr. Gouws focuses on delivering highly tailored, safe, and natural-looking results that honor each patient's individual features.

Dr. Romina Moradi

Family Physician & Skin Health Specialist

Dr. Romina Moradi is a family physician with a dedicated clinical focus on dermatology, skin cancer prevention, and comprehensive skin health. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of British Columbia, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership serving as Chief Resident. A recipient of the prestigious College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Award of Excellence, Dr. Moradi has pursued extensive international training, including dermatologic electives across Canada and Europe, and is currently completing a Diploma in General Dermatology and Skin Cancer (Australia).

As a Clinical Instructor at UBC, she is passionate about medical education, actively teaching residents in Family Medicine and Primary Care Dermatology. At North Shore Plastic Surgery, Dr. Moradi bridges the gap between medical and aesthetic skin care. Her practice emphasizes meticulous assessments and early detection of precancerous lesions alongside personalized treatment plans for sun damage, pigmentation, and skin aging—establishing a foundation of long-term skin health and radiance.
